Smarter car park gas detection starts with monitoring the right gases. The EC22 DS dual-sensor transmitter delivers simultaneous detection of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂)—providing a more complete, accurate picture of vehicle emissions in enclosed parking environments. Designed specifically for underground car parks and tunnels, the EC22 DS enables safer conditions, improved ventilation control, and more efficient system design—all from a single, cost-effective device.

GfG Car Park Dual Sensor Transmitter

The GfG EC22 DS gas transmitter is a purpose-built, dual-sensor solution for monitoring vehicle exhaust gases in enclosed or semi-enclosed environments such as car parks, tunnels, and loading areas.

Using two independent electrochemical (EC) sensors, the EC22 DS simultaneously measures carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NO, NO₂)—key pollutants produced by petrol and diesel vehicles.

Why Dual CO + NO₂ Detection Matters
Modern vehicle fleets produce a mix of emissions:
  • CO dominates from petrol engines
  • NO₂ / NOx is more prevalent in diesel vehicles
Relying on a single gas (typically CO) can miss emerging risks. The EC22 DS solves this by monitoring both gases at once—delivering:
  • More accurate air quality assessment
  • Better protection against mixed vehicle emissions
  • Improved compliance with evolving ventilation standards
  • Reduced risk of under-ventilating diesel-heavy environments
This makes it the preferred solution for modern car park designs.

Two Sensors, One Device
The EC22 DS integrates dual electrochemical sensors in a single transmitter, allowing:
  • Simultaneous monitoring of CO and NO₂/NOx
  • Independent measurement ranges (e.g. up to 500 ppm CO, low ppm NO₂)
  • High sensitivity to both short-term peaks and long-term exposure
This reduces the need for multiple devices—simplifying installation and lowering total system cost.

Optimised for Car Park Ventilation Control
Designed specifically for environments where exhaust gases accumulate, the EC22 DS enables:
  • Demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) based on real conditions
  • Automated fan control via BMS or gas controllers
  • Improved energy efficiency by avoiding over-ventilation
  • Fast response to rising gas levels
It is ideally suited to:
  • Underground and basement car parks
  • Multi-storey parking buildings
  • Road tunnels and enclosed transport areas
Reliable, Accurate Performance
  • Proven electrochemical sensing technology
  • Automatic temperature compensation for stable readings
  • Signal linearisation for improved accuracy
  • Typical sensor life >3 years for reduced maintenance
This ensures dependable monitoring in demanding, real-world environments.

Simple Integration & Maintenance
  • RS-485 (Modbus) communication for digital integration
  • Compatible with BMS, PLC, and dedicated gas controllers
  • Status indication via LED for quick diagnostics
  • Easy calibration via smartphone app or magnetic tool
  • Plug-and-play sensor replacement
Cost & Installation Advantages
Using a dual-sensor transmitter like the EC22 DS provides clear project benefits:
  • Fewer devices required vs single-gas transmitters
  • Reduced cabling and installation time
  • Lower commissioning and maintenance costs
  • Simplified system design and layout
All while delivering enhanced safety coverage.
