Pulsar Assessor Model 81A & 82A Integrated Class 1/Class 2 Sound Level Meter

Need to measure sound levels in your workplace or your personal exposure of workers and employees?

The Pulsar Assessor is the sound level meter you need to perform these tasks.
An integrated type meter, it is designed to simply determine the noise in the work place with the ability to measure sound levels between 57 and 130dBA.

The Assessor is a professional Integrated sound level meter, with both Class2 and Class1 models available. It has the measurement parameters, LA, LEQ (or LAeqT), LCPeak and LEX8 (8 hour exposure).
LAeqT, LEX8 and Lpeak measurement parameters are described in the standard AS/NZ 1269, the standing document for the measurement of noise in the workplace.

View Brochure:

Where low-cost basic sound level meters give a "there and now" instantaneous simple sound level in dB, they are not accurate enough to determine sound levels over time, which can vary greatly. To be compliant with the standard, noise must be determined over time, typically 8 hours.

The standard 82A model can determine the sound levels as required above.
The 82A+ and 81A+ models have the added functionality of data logging which also allows the operator to create a noise survey report using the Analyzer software package (supplied)

For Personal Noise Exposure in factories, warehouses and industrial plants, the Assessor also has an effective feature of recording the LEX8 value.

LEX,8 (or LEX,8hr) is the "total personal noise exposure to noise at work" based on a standard 8 hour working day.
The NZ standard for Personal Noise exposure, NZS1269.1:2014, states that no employee should be exposed to noise values over 85dBA (or 140 LCPEAK).

Calibrated by Pulsar and tested prior to sale, the Assessor is very easy to use with only 4 buttons and has a large easy to read graphical LCD display.
The LCD displays the Leq measurement in large numbers as well as the current LA value.
A simple push of the "Stop Measurement" button brings up the LEX,8 screen and values.

The Assessor is issued with a test operation certificate from Pulsar in England.

The Assessor is also available as a full "Measurement Kit" (see image left) which includes the meter, calibrated acoustic calibrator, windshield, wrist strap, tripod and hard lined carry case.
